Nalani

A Visual Image The night sky spreading out over everything -- so gigantic. Star-freckles and the moon casting a blue haze. The wind whispers softly blowing its breath on everything. The ground soft and cool with lush green grass rolling over hills. Four musicians careful and content watch for the dancers cue. Six beautiful dancers alert and happy prepare to take themselves and others to a new place. Perfect. "If it were not for my sister Eledi I never would have started to dance. She started me on the path and the rest of our troupe of talented dancers and inspiring musicians have brought me farther in my quest. I just love to dance and to learn about dance." Dancing is not the only way Nalani expresses herself. Painting has played an integral part in her life. She is currently painting in her basement (better, she thinks, than painting on her basement) but soon will be going to art school and finding good studio space. She recently returned from a trip to Turkey and is currently working on a large scale painting of the Ghawazee troupe.
