Karadeniz Karadeniz is Ghawazee's premiere melodic instrumentalist. He has participated in many international folk dance and music camps. Frustrated by the enormous responsibility of guitar, a many stringed instrument that can produce hideous noises unless the musician has great coordination and ability, Karadeniz chose instead to concentrate on mastering kaval, an end blown flute that is virtually soundless until the musician has become quite good. In his mystical path toward simplicity, Karadeniz has now taken up the wooden spoons as a musical instrument. These are more portable, make fewer notes, and in a pinch can be used as eating utensils.
